Birds of prey are a metaphor for all that is fearless, free, and powerful. They often soar on thermals, not hunting, but watching – and seeing. It is that watching, that knowing, that is the essence of these birds. The metamorformation birds get their power from the objects of which they are made – objects once used by others every day. Butter knives, auto parts, candlesticks, and masonry tools – each retains a memory of the many hands that used them. When combined, these connections amplify and the sculptures become capacitors of thought.
